Big Brother Hayden

David and I so blessed to have such a sweet big brother for Parker.  Hayden has stepped up and gone above and beyond to take care of his new baby sister.  Yes, there have been times where he has complained that maybe she cries too much, but all in all, he just adores her.  He's always asking if he can hold her so I can take their picture.  (Which makes me super happy b/c I love taking pictures anyways, and I can't think of two cuter subjects!)

He sings twinkle twinkle little star and abc's to her, he talks very quietly to her to calm her down when she's upset, and he's always offering to do anything to help me out with her (getting a diaper, getting her pacifier, helping me feed her, etc).  Funny story - the other day, a friend of mine was holding Parker and made the comment that "she's so sweet, I just wanna take her home with me!"  Hayden got very concerned and looked up at me and said, "Mama, Parker's going home with us!"  haha

I was always worried about how Hayden would handle having to share the spotlight.  I mean, afterall, he was an only child (and only grandchild!) for almost 3 years.  But, he's handled it extremely well and we couldn't be prouder of him.  He's a super big brother.

Here's some cute pictures of Hayden and his little sister Parker.

August 2010

Where has the time gone!  My sister got onto me this past weekend for not being better at updating my blogs.  She said, "you shouldn't just post once a month, that's boring."  (or something like that....haha)  So, hopefully now that my life has settled down a bit and I'm more adjusted to having 2 kids, my blogging will be better.  For now, enjoy these pictures from August.
My sweet baby girl is growing up too fast!

July 2010

July flew by!  I think that happens when you have a newborn and a 3 year old.  It all seems a blur to me, but I was able to capture some cute photos of both of the kiddos as some point in there.  Enjoy!

The kids at Mrs. Connie's had their annual 4th of July bike parade.
Here's Hayden and some of his friends showing off the visors they made!
It rained on the parade but the kids still had a great time!
Parker turned 1 month old.  I'm going to try to do pics like this each month.  Let's see how well I keep up!
Steph and her family invited us out for fireworks.  Hayden loved them all.  Especially the smoke balls!
Parker all dressed up for her first visit to the hair salon and dinner with my WASP friends!
Sitting up like a big girl!
Hayden and Phoebe (our dog) made good use of the plastic pool in the backyard!
Love this onesie!
We spent some time at the IP Spray Park.
I'm such a lucky momma to have such great kiddos!
Uncle Toby took Hayden down the street to meet the Ice Cream Truck!
Parker - 2 months old
Hayden at the IP Spray Park with his best friend Hunter (or the "H Mafia" as Steph and I call them).  They're trouble!
Geri took pics of the kids at the end of July.  I wanted some cute ones of them together but it didn't happen.  Hayden is a little stubborn (like his mama) and wouldn't participate or even SMILE in any of them without wearing his goggles on his head!  Oh well, at least I got some cute ones of Parker!

Parker's Newborn Pics

Geri came and took Parker's newborn pictures last week.  Let's just say I don't have a typical newborn.  You know, the one that sleeps through all of their pictures??  Parker was awake for the entire shoot (both days of it... sorry Geri!)  Even the ones where it looks like she's asleep, she's not.  Geri was just quick enough to get her picture when her eyes were closed.  haha  She cried in most of them, but we got some good ones.  I'm hoping she's not giving us a glimpse of what the future holds raising a girl!  If so, David and I are in trouble!  Of course, as soon as Geri left and I put Parker in her swing, she slept for like 3 hours each day.  Oh well, we're enjoying this little girl so much and we are so blessed to have her in our lives.

Now, on to the pictures!

Hayden just loves holding her and giving her lots of kisses.  He's such a good big brother!
And of course I had to include one of the crying pictures.  She's just so cute, even when she's mad!!

She's here!

Parker Alise Reed made her debut on Thursday, June 3 at 1:26 pm. 7 lbs, 12 oz and absolutely perfect! She looks just like Hayden did when he was born (only exception is that she was about 2 lbs smaller... haha) and she has more hair. We are so in love with this little girl!
Our first family of 4 picture!Hayden is the best big brother. He was so excited to meet her and immediately asked if he could hold her. He has been so good with her at home, always asking me if can "watch her" for me. He also sings her songs and talks to her when she cries. It makes my heart melt to see him interact with her. I can't wait to see them grow up together.
Parker is such a sweet baby. She loves to eat and sleep. Only gets upset when you change her diaper. Not sure what it is, but she DOES NOT like to be naked! I'm sure this preference will change, but for now, we're becoming really fast at changing her clothes and diapers to keep her from getting too worked up. haha

One more week...

It's official! We've been scheduled for Miss Parker's induction next Thurs, June 3 at 7:30am (which is also coincidentally my 31st birthday!) Crossing my fingers that not too many women go into labor Wed night so they'll have a bed ready for us Thursday morning. Alot of people have been asking me if I'm ok with sharing my birthday with my baby girl. At first I was kind of like, I guess, hadn't really thought of it. But the more I think about it, I think it's going to be pretty cool. (I'm definitely going to have a talk with her between now and then though that she better not be stubborn and keep me in labor til the 4th. That's just mean! haha)
So, here's a few pics of what we've been up to lately.
Hopefully the next time I blog, I'll be posting pics of our sweet baby girl.

A trip to the fire station with Miss Tara & Emma (let's just say both kids were more interested in running through the vacant field next door than looking at the cool fire trucks... oh well, maybe next year!)
