Christmas 2008

We had an AWESOME Christmas and Hayden was beyond spoiled! haha He got a train table from Santa, a Black & Decker workbench (complete with noise-making tools!) from my Dad, a trampoline from David's parents (which Mommy is really enjoying too!) and a shiny red tricycle, complete with streamers and a bell, from my Mom. Santa was also very good to David and I!

We attended alot of fun Christmas parties (The Jones' always do it up right!), enjoyed plenty of family time and the spirit of the season. We all also really enjoyed the Christmas Eve candlelight service at Colonial. Hayden clapped his hands, swayed to the music and I even caught him singing along a few times. (He also really enjoyed the lit candle!)

We're so blessed and really looking forward to making many more good memories in 2009!

Merry Christmas!

The best gift ever...

Hayden is going to have a little cousin come August - that's right, Aunt JoJo and Uncle Brian are having a baby!!! We're so excited for them - babies are the best gifts in the world. Congrats!

Nice weather, pretty leaves and cute kids

I just love this time of year... the leaves are changing and everything looks so pretty. (Yes, I know... in a few short weeks everything will look dead! But, let's enjoy it while we can... haha)

My friend Stephanie and I took the kids to play in the leaves today. Since we live in a fairly new neighborhood, we have no trees, thus no leaves. So, my friend Jana was nice enough to let us come play in hers! Here's some pics we took today - we had so much fun!

Kelby is the best leaf-thrower I know!

So proud...

Hayden's not much of a talker. Oh, he says plenty, but we have yet to understand what most of it is. haha But, this morning, he said a 3-word sentence and I understood it completely!
What, you ask, did my almost 2-year-old say?? This morning, as we were getting ready for school, he looks at me and says, "I ju bur!" (I just burped!) I was so very proud (and laughing alot inside).... it's days like this that remind me how much I love being his mommy!

Hayden's Tree

Hayden got his own tree this year for his room. I bought a little 4 ft lighted one at Wal-Mart and let him pick out all of the ornaments (shatterproof, of course!). He had so much fun decorating it and everyday after school he runs to his room to turn on the lights on his tree. He likes it so much he wants me to turn it on again every night at bedtime so he can look at it when he falls asleep. haha
Before decorating....

And after!

Don't you just love the holidays!?!?!?!

Thanksgiving 2008

This year for my mom's side Thanksgiving, instead of turkey, we did a Mexican fiesta at my aunt's house. We had enchiladas, rice, beans, the works. And to top it all off - a pinata filled with candy for the boys! Hayden & Garrett had so much fun trying to hit the "Cars" star to knock the candy out. In the end, the dads had to lend a hand - they make those things kid-proof!

Yes, David almost lost an arm holding the pinata so Hayden could hit it... haha

Don't worry... the Reeds got plenty of turkey this year. Oven roasted turkey at David's parents and then a fried turkey at my dad's sister's house. Yummy!

Jackson's Birthday & City Lights Parade

We celebrated Jackson's 3rd birthday with him at Chuck E Cheese. Hayden doesn't much care for the dancing mouse or the rides. He was really only interested in the pizza, cake and skee-ball. (And by skee-ball, I mean chunking the balls as hard as he could up the lane - we didn't hit many of the holes. haha!)Jackson had to get a lift to blow out all of his candles. (-:

After Jackson's party, we headed downtown to the annual City Lights parade. The weather was nice (not too cold!) and the kids really enjoyed the parade. I think Hayden liked everything except the police sirens. Every time the motorcycle cop would hit his siren, Hayden would jump out of his skin! The downtown merchants do a great job with the parade and we'll definitely go back next year! This is the best group shot of the kids I could get.

Growing up too fast!

I found these pics and can't believe Hayden's almost 2! It just seems like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. He's growing up way too fast!

Cousins

I just had to share this picture - it cracks me up everytime I look at it! This is Hayden and my cousin Laura's son, Garrett. We get together to play every chance we can. Garrett is 10 weeks older than Hayden and they always have a great time together!

We asked them to lean in together to take a picture and this is what we got! It looks like they're on a roller coaster or something... haha

Happy Halloween

Hayden had such a great time this year! He had a party at school on Friday afternoon and then we went to a carnival on Friday night. It's amazing what a difference one year makes. Last year, he wasn't even walking, and this year he's running all over the place with his sword! Enjoy the pictures of our little pirate!

Painting Pumpkins

Hayden had so much fun painting pumpkins last week. He got paint everywhere!! After we painted them, we added their faces and then delivered them to his grandparents. They were so surprised!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Just like Daddy...

Hayden loves to use David's tools. I bought him a tool box last week and he's been walking around the house with his screwdriver and hammer "fixing" things. Just thought I'd share this cute picture of my two boys working on Hayden's favorite mower.

Pumpkin Patch

Hayden's sitter takes the kids to the pumpkin patch every year. Well, this year, Hayden is old enough to go, so I took off the morning to go with them. I'm so glad I brought my camera b/c I got some great pictures! Hayden had so much fun running through the pumpkins, picking them up to show me how BIG he is, and also saying "cheese" to the camera. Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Birthday Carson!

We had so much fun this past weekend at Carson's 2nd birthday party! The boys (and Miss Ellie) bounced the day away in a neat little bounce house Camie rented. Hayden had so much fun - thanks for inviting us!

We've been keeping busy lately - playing outside while the weather is so nice (Hayden has discovered what fun sidewalk chalk is!) and enjoying having Daddy home more often. David just took a job working for his dad and so now he has "bankers hours" and can be home at night and on the weekends. So, I've put him to work on some honey-do projects around the house... he's so sweet to oblige (or at least put up with my demands... haha)!

I'll leave you with a cute picture from Carson's party last Saturday - Hayden is such a poser! haha

18 months

So... once again, it's been awhile since I posted anything. Man, this is harder to keep up with than I thought!

Hayden is now 18 months old and becoming quite the little person. His favorite things to do are swim (and jump into the pool!), feed the dog, mimic pretty much anything David and I do (he even wants to put on deodorant in the mornings!), mow all over the backyard (with his little plastic bubble mower), swing, and have Mommy read books to him. He can say nana (banana), dog, more, mama, dada, Jo Jo (Aunt Jodi), night night, bye-bye and does sign language for please, all done and more.

I keep saying that the age he is now is my favorite age....but then a month passes and I have a new favorite age. haha He's just so much fun now - so interactive and almost like having a friend to hang out with (well, one that requires alot of sleep and doesn't really talk back much). (-:

That's all for now - here's some new pictures! Enjoy!

15 months!

Once again - my apologies for being so behind! Hayden is now 15 months and running everywhere! He's so much fun and loves to give hugs and blow kisses to everyone (including the sales people at Lacks Furniture last week) haha!

I'm so ready for summer to finally be here. We had my dad's side of the family over last night for a hamburger cook-out on the patio. It's so nice to just sit, relax, have a good meal (and maybe a beer or 2) with family & friends outdoors. The weather has been great lately, so keep it up Mother Nature! Hayden is definitely an outdoorsy kid (I'm sure most of them are at this age) so I'm sure we'll enjoy many more dinners on the patio in the future. David and I are so blessed!
Here's some recent pics of Hayden - enjoy!
