Memorial Day Weekend

We started off the weekend with a bbq at our neighbor's house Friday night. I forgot to take my camera so I have no pics of that. We really enjoy spending time with our neighbors. Their little girl Emma is a week younger than Hayden and they always play so well together. I'm going to be so sad when they build their new house out in the country, but we'll have to make sure we still get together. Hayden loves his Emma. (-:

On Saturday morning, we got up early, picked up some donuts and Aunt Jodi and headed to PK. Uncle Brian's parents have a cabin there so it's always nice when they invite us down for the day. We had a great time, despite the on and off rain/lightning. What's up with rainy weather on a 3 day weekend?!?!?!? Here's some pics from our time at PK.
Hayden and JoJo waiting to go out on the boat.

Hayden wasn't too sure about the boat and being out in the water at first. I think he forgot about all that swimming he did last summer. Can you believe next summer there will be a Baby Camp at the lake?!?!?
Cool dude in his Diego shades.

On Sunday, we went to a pool party at the Jones' house. Stephanie is the hostess with the mostess and we always have such a good time. Hayden warmed up to the water a little better than on Saturday and by the time we left, he was swimming from the shallow end to the ladder in the deep end. He's so funny when he swims b/c he says, "Swim, Swim, Swim" over and over. I think it keeps him focused... haha It's too bad Daddy is on his Florida golf trip with his Dad. He missed out on a fun weekend!

Just like Daddy...

I was looking through these pictures from last month and just had to post this one. Not only does Hayden look like his daddy, he even got his legs! Just look at those calves! (-:

$3 sprinkler

Who knew a 3 dollar sprinkler could be so much fun?

Shawn's Going-Away Party

Our good friend, Shawn Phillips, just got his next assignment in the US Coast Guard. He's headed to Kodiak, Alaska!!
Each summer he comes home for a visit and we try to get all of our college friends together for a bbq. We had a great turnout this year and everyone ended bringing their kids so that made it even more entertaining. It's so funny to think back to all of the wild parties we had at the Sigma Nu house and now when we get together there's all these kids under 5 running around! haha
Dave grilled hamburgers, brats and hot dogs and everyone brought a side dish. We had a great time, just enjoying old friends and nice weather. Here are a few pics from the party.
Shawn, Chris, John, Dave, Tim, Shane & Joey
Jodi, Me, Geri, Sarah, Jess, Blanca & Dana
Future Sigma Nus (Hayden, Reid Viavattene & Davidson Cook)
Let's hope these boys can stay out of trouble when they're in college together!

Crop Night!

Last weekend, Randi hosted us at her house in Henrietta for a crop night. We had a great time working on our scrapbooks and even got the Clay County Sheriff involved! haha

Long story (that is freakin hilarious if you were there) but we saw car tail lights outside by her husband's barn at like 2 AM and freaked out b/c it was just us girls there and she lives out in the middle of nowhere. We called the Sheriff's office and they sent out 2 deputies that were nice enough to point out (with a huge spotlight) that there is no reason to be scared of a 4-wheeler. haha Come to find out, one of Randi's husband's lawn guys had used it and forgot to put it in park. Therefore, the headlights and tail lights stay on when it's in neutral. (We thought it was teenagers making out in Randi and Brad's barn. haha!)

I think the deputies, AND the dispatcher that we kept on the phone the entiretime, definitely got a good laugh out of us that night!

Sunday Dinner

I have a great group of mommy friends and we've started getting together on Sunday evenings with the kiddos to enjoy dinner and some play time. It started as a weight-loss challenge (which sadly ends this week - I haven't met my goal yet), but I'm hoping we keep it going because we sure enjoy it!
This past Sunday, we hosted at our house and Thana brought the kids Jello pudding pops for dessert. As you can see, they enjoyed them to the last drip.
